Today we made it from Ocean Beach to Santa Cruz...75 miles.  It was a day of contrasts.  We started out around 6:30 in the cold fog and made it up the hill in Daly City.  After Pacifica we rounded the corner and saw great surf at San Pedro Point.  We got a good session in before heading up and down Devil's Slide...probably the most treacherous part of the trip.  After that we had a wide shoulder and tail wind the rest of the way.  We were making great time until Mike popped a spoke on the drive side of his back wheel.  Fortunately, we were able to fix it and get on our way.  We mis-planned this part of the journey by not having food for 50 miles. We got some food in Davenport and finished in Santa Cruz at around 5:15.  Our
friends Julie and Rick treated us to a great Sri Lankin dinner...thanks so much.
Tomorrow, Big Sur with some surf on the way hopefully.
