I participated in the paddle out memorial ceremony for Glenn Stockwell yesterday. While I didn't know Glenn for very long, I always knew that when he and Carl were in the water, the vibe would be good and the stoke high. Glenn passed away of cancer this year, so along with Mike's father, we'll dedicate our ride to him. This is why we're raising money for cancer research, so we can have fewer paddle out ceremonies. We surfers can often fall into the trap of complaining about each other in the water and the line up. But, I found it inspiring that we all came together to give support to a fellow tribe member. Rest In Peace Glenn. It gives me comfort that you are still with us in the line up.
