Welcome to Bike and Surf California. Scott and Mike are avid surfers and cyclists, and are embarking on a wonderful journey and opportunity this May. As surfers, we are increasingly conscious of the environmental impact all surfers have as we drive up and down the coast looking for surf. As a result of this awareness, we are spending two weeks this May bicycling and surfing our way down the coast of California to surf in an environmentally friendly way. Through the journey, we hope to bring attention to others regarding the many environmental issues that face our coast. We will be self-sufficient on our trip, meaning we will carry all of our gear on the incredibly strong Equinox Trailer, and tow our boards behind our bikes using a Quiver Kaddy. We want to thank Scott from Equinox Trailers and Mark from Quiver Kaddy for the amazing trailers.
We are proud to say that officially, ALL of our donated surf gear on the trip is made from the latest in sustainable materials. We will be using eco-friendly surfboards shaped by Ned McHahon from Homeblown, eco-friendly wetsuits from Matuse, sustainable boardbags and leashes from WaveTribe, and non-petroleum based wax from Matunas.
